Our Story

Mother the Children was founded by Georgina Adatsi, a second-generation immigrant who has witnessed several public health challenges through her travels to her parents' homes. She has experience working in Sierra Leone and Ghana and during her time at the University of Illinois. Through her experiences in those respective places, she decided to seek higher education in order to be a driver of change. She attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and acquired a Masters Degree in Public Health focused in Maternal, Child and Family Health. During her graduate studies she founded Mother the Children Foundation. It all started with a burning passion and a few phone calls, which is how our board was founded.
